Which protection kit is right for my furniture?
It depends on the material. Timber furniture is covered by our Wood Care range, fabric upholstery by our Fabric Care range, leather by our Leather Care range (with a separate option for pull-up or waxed leather), and outdoor settings by our Outdoor Care range. If your piece combines materials, like a timber-framed fabric sofa, a combined kit such as the Wood & Fabric Care Collection covers both in one.
What's the difference between a care product and a warranty kit?
Standalone products like sprays, cleaners and polish help you maintain and protect your furniture yourself day to day. The 5 year warranty collections go a step further: if you get a stain or accidental damage you can't remove or fix, Guardsman sends a technician to repair it, or replace the affected area, at no cost to you. If you want ongoing peace of mind rather than just upkeep, the warranty kit is the better fit.
Do I need to buy protection at the same time as my furniture?
Yes, if you want the 5 year warranty coverage. Guardsman's warranty kits are only valid when purchased at the same time as your furniture, or prior to delivery, and you'll need to register the warranty on the Guardsman website once it arrives. Standalone care products like cleaners and sprays can be purchased any time.
How often should I clean and protect my furniture?
This varies by material and how much use your furniture gets. As a general guide, a quick clean or dust every few weeks keeps everyday grime at bay, while a deeper clean and reapplication of protector every few months keeps the protective barrier topped up, more often for outdoor settings or high-use pieces like family sofas.
What isn't covered by Guardsman's protection warranties?
Generally excluded across all ranges are pet damage (clawing, chewing, bodily fluids), manufacturing faults, damage from misuse or lack of care, general build-up of dirt or grime, and fading or discolouration from everyday wear. Always check the specific warranty booklet for your kit, as exclusions can vary slightly between timber, fabric, leather and outdoor.
